Janet Evans

Janet Evans is considered by many as one of the greatest distance freestyle swimmers in history. She is the first American woman to win four individual Olympic gold medals in swimming. A three-time Olympian, Evans won three golds at the 1988 Seoul Games and set world records that would stand for nearly two decades. A former Stanford swimmer, NCAA champion, and 1989 Sullivan Award winner, she has been inducted into both the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame. Beyond the pool, Evans is an author and a key leader of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee, where she serves as Chief Athlete Officer, ensuring athlete voices are prioritized in preparation for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
