The Department of Health, Sport, & Exercise Sciences (HSES) at the University of Kansas is searching for an Assistant Professor in the Exercise Science program to help grow the department’s emphasis in the area of sport science. The position requires an earned doctorate in exercise science, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control, or sport science with a research emphasis in applied sport science.
The department has multiple research laboratories available to conduct sport science research. These include the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory (an Innovation Hub of the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance), the Applied Physiology Laboratory, the Neuromechanics Laboratory, and the Cardiovascular Autonomic Laboratory, which are located on the Lawrence campus. In addition, the Metabolic & Body Composition Laboratory and the Exercise & Human Performance Laboratory are located on the Edwards campus in the Kansas City metro area. Additional collaborative opportunities exist with the Sports Medicine and Performance Center at the University of Kansas Health System. The position is a full-time, tenure track (academic year – 9 months) with a start date of August 18, 2023.
