“Society often holds the view of the scholar as a solitary and singular genius. Even to this day that’s a common stereotype,” said Dr. Moler. “But in reality, scholars today participate in highly collaborative, worldwide search for shared understandings that stand the test of time and scrutiny of others. The problems in the 21st century demand not just solitary acts of genius but efforts by teams of researchers.”
